Professors

Pallet Town is a sleepy little place on the westernmost part of Kanto. If there was only one Pokemon Professorin Kanto, why would he not be located in a larger, more central town/city? Celadon, for example. It makes little sense for all wannabe pokemon trainers to have to go through backwater Pallet to start their journey.

The answer to this situation? They don't. Oak is not the only professor in the world. A number of other towns have them as well. Next is a list of the professor for each town, and the sex of each one. Pallet -- Oak (Male)

Viridian -- Spruce (Female)

Pewter -- Dogwood (Male)

Cerulean -- Willow (Male)

Neon -- Ginkgo (Female)

Celadon -- Sumac (Female)

Saffron -- Sassafras (Female)

Lavender -- Evergreen (Male)

Vermilion -- Redwood (Male)

Fuchsia -- Fir (Male)

Cinnabar -- Magnolia (Female)

None: Gringy, Seafoam, Sunny, Dark, HopHop, Stone, Maiden's, and Porta Vista.

Note: Professors can be (and more often are) educators and directors of the storage/transfer systems instead of researchers.
